Sunday Sermon

"Heart of the Father"

Mikhail Khochai, minister in the "City on the Hill" church (Seattle, USA), visited the "House of Bread" church.

On Sunday, June 24th 2012, at the second part of sermon, Mikhail shared with us from the Word of God that the Lord continues creating everything new for us.

He set an example from the story of the Samaritan woman and pointed out that she was an honest individual. "I wish there would be no such women in our church. She was a fallen woman, but Jesus put her as an example for us because of her honesty. When Jesus asked about her husband, she could have made something up in order to show herself as a righteous person, but she chose to tell the truth. Her soul longed for God," Mikhail preached.

Our guest from Seattle also brought up that there are many Christians who wear masks on their faces and speak lies to themselves and to God. He called for repentance and asked the people who didn’t have peace with the Lord to join God’s family.
Mikhail continued that Jesus Christ showed us God as the Father and therefore every Christian can come to Him as His son or daughter. This radically changes a man’s attitude towards God, as people of the Old Testament viewed God as an Avenging God. Today a man has an opportunity to come to God and glorify Him. "But the hour is coming and now is when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; For the Father is seeking such to worship Him." (John 4:23, NKJ)
"My life turned upside down when I became a father", Mikhail explained, "Sometimes when I come home after church, I go to the children’s room, look at them and cry simply because I am a father."
In conclusion, our guest encouraged everybody to change their attitude towards God and show Him our true faces without hypocrisy and craftiness. The Father will always love His children and will never cast away the prodigal son and the most important thing is the sincere desire in you to take off that mask of lies and call onto God with a pure heart.
